I really enjoy making things we like myself. I do enjoy more to research about them and read how other people making them in different ways. Most of the times I combine the recipes and make one out of them. It was a while I was reading about making a good berry smoothie since they are high in antioxidants and Lower in glucose in compar to other things.
I found recipes containing coconut milk to milk and yogurt, but the final ingredients I am using are:
One cup of frozen berries ( blackberry, raspberry and blueberry)
3 table spoon of non fat yogurt
A little bit of water (depending on the consistency you wish to get)
4 chunks of frozen banana
Less than a tablespoon of flaxseed
So simple! I mix them in blender and hmmmmmm, I sometimes enjoy it as a breakfast or an energizing treat in the afternoon.
You may also like the taste of a teaspoon of vanilla or cinnamon in your smoothie but I prefer a simple one.
For sweetness sugar or stevia could be used as I was using but then I came up with the idea of using banana so I omitted the sugar. Substituting banana for stevia or sugar doesn't give that sweetness but as it contains magnesium, it will be more beneficial.
For the use of yogurt,water,milk,or coconut milk, it completely depond on your preference as I like with water and yogurt but Sepehr like his with only milk. I read a recepie with coconut milk and it was using 1/3 can of it.
But remember the important thing in making a good smoothie, always and always use frozen fruit and don't use ice. Your blender may don't cut ice into tiny pieces and you may feel them while having it!
